Clay

Clay is an interesting art form to play with. When we are children we play with playdoe and clay. The clay I am talking about is air-dry modeling clay, modeling clay can be very difficult to work with depending on the object you happen to be modeling.  As clay dries it gets too hard to work with, so your hands need to be damp constantly. And it happens to dry out your hands, I suggest that if you are going to be working with modeling clay that you carry lotion on your person so that way you can moisturize your hands after each time you use the clay. Modeling a human or an animal with clay is very difficult to do, especially if it has tons of small details. When modeling you have to take your time to create the art piece so that it looks realistic.

This is a large simple block of modeling clay. When using this clay you can use a piece of wire to cut the piece of clay that you want off of the block and then you can use the clay on a table  or a board so it doesn’t stick to the table  when you are modeling the clay.

As you can see in this picture, the turtle has a lot of small details. The turtles shell is beautifully cracked apart, and the scales on his legs and face are perfectly placed and modeled. The clay has been painted and dried so it will stay like that for a very long time. After a clay piece is dried it will stay like that until it breaks.

 watercolor Painting

Working with watercolors is one of the most common forms of art, Most children who enjoy art and painting get watercolors for a gift because they are very easy to clean up. Water colors are dry pallets that need water to get the pigment on the paint brush.  When you are putting water on the palette  be sure you don’t flood the pallet with water because as the water dries the pallet begins to loose pigment and it starts to disappear faster.  Watercolors are really interesting to play with, as you put the watercolor onto the watercolor paper it is very dark until you take a little splash of water and pull the pigment down.

As you can see in this picture, The watercolors create a beautiful art piece. The sky has light and dark blues, and they were faded by using water to separate the colors. All of the colors on the picture are watercolors and are beautifully placed on the page.

When using watercolors you have to use a special watercolor paper because the water will soak through normal paper and the paper will rip. Good water color paper is more expensive but if you are planning to sell your art it is worth the extra money to make the art piece look  like an art masterpiece rather than the paper ripping and you wasting your money on the cheap paper. Watercolor paper is also textured to make the water color stay better.
Watercolors are overall cleaner and easier to use.

drawing

Drawing.

Drawing is one of the things we learn to do when we are toddlers.  When our moms or dads handed us a crayon or a pencil and told us to go draw, and we took the pencil and off we went drawing on a piece of paper or a coloring book, Sometimes we even drew on the walls. As the whole room was being filled with our art we were learning how to hold and manage a pencil. We slowly built up the confidence to draw an object.
Image result for pictures drawn by toddlers I found this image here:
In this image we see a little kid drawing on a whiteboard, even though it is just scribbles this small child is expanding its knowledge and learning how to draw by scribbling on the wall.
Eventually as a child gets older they begin to start drawing objects. Most likely the child seen this picture somewhere or had this object in front of them and they were drawing what they had seen.

Eventually we get old enough to look at what real people look like and recognize small details. We look at a singular object and try to put every detail into the drawing.  As we get older and we start using proper drawing pencils and sketch book, we start learning how to shade our pictures and put small fine detail.

Drawing is difficult, not everyone is good at it but we still all draw eventually. It could be a stick man or a realistic person, we still draw something.

Pastel Art

Pastel is my personal favorite form of art. There are more than one kind of pastel, two of the main pastels that i will be talking about are Oil pastels, And chalk pastels. chalk pastels are very fun to work with, despite the mess that they make, the chalk pastel creates a beautiful piece of art. Chalk pastels are very delicate, easily breakable if dropped. The pigment that comes off of  the chalk pastels are beautiful as well if you have good quality pastels. Oil pastels are difficult to use, difficult to control. Oil pastels are easy to smudge and smear together, to create look of an amazing art piece. Many people use pastels to create an art masterpiece, even though other people may not like the are your created if you like it is your art masterpiece. Most people don't make a career for themselves in art, only a small portion of this world has become professional artists. Pastel art you need to use slow, gentle and light strokes. Using oil pastel is much harder than using chalk pastel because oil pastels you have to push a little harder and it comes off a lot more rough.

I am going to show and explain to you the difference between oil pastel and chalk pastel art pieces.

as you can see in this picture, the colors are mixed and blended, As well as colors sticking  out at the front of the art piece..

In this drawing, The colors look like they were drawn by crayons and it doesn't look quite as clean as the other drawing.

Oil pastels are very different, both equally as beautiful as one another but pastels are different from each other.

Realism

Learning about realism.

Art is a passion. Like most art, you don't have to be good at art to make art. Making an art piece is not difficult. you simply take an art utensil such as a paintbrush and some paint and smear it all over a canvas. When you are finished you have an art piece. To create an art masterpiece however, you need to have some skill, a steady hand and a good eye for color. Realism is the form of art where you create something that looks real. Animals, people and landscape are amazing forms of realism. Realism can be done with any art utensil, Pencils, pastels, paint, charcoals and many more. Making a realistic looking art piece is difficult, if your hand is not steady enough it could ruin the whole art piece. Realism takes time, as you are holding that pencil, rather than going really fast slow down and use long steady strokes.

Leonardo da vinci was an amazing artist in the late 1400's to the early 1500's. Leonardo da vinci created the Mona Lisa in the year 1503. The Mona Lisa is painted in oil paints, a very common paint for realism art. If you look at the small details in the Mona Lisa, she is painted very carefully with delicate strokes. The Mona Lisa also has no eyebrows. The Mona Lisa - by Leonardo Da Vinci
